The Use of AI Coding in English Language Learning

The English Teachers Working Group (KKG) of Babulu District continues to strive to improve the quality of education through various innovations. One of the latest activities organized was a training session on “AI Coding,” or artificial intelligence programming. The activity aimed to introduce AI technology to English teachers so that they could integrate it into the learning process. The training was initiated by the Head of the KKG, Peke, S.Pd., as an initial step in preparing teachers to face the challenges of the digital era.

The training was designed to provide participants with a basic understanding of how AI works, particularly in supporting English language learning. Participants learned how to use AI-powered technologies, such as chatbot applications, automated correction tools, and other digital learning platforms. In addition, the activity was designed to encourage teachers to become more creative in developing technology-based teaching materials, enabling them to create interactive and engaging learning experiences for students.

The activity was held on December 12, 2014, for approximately three hours, from around 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA), in the media room of SD Negeri 001 Babulu. It was attended by all members of the Babulu District English Teachers Working Group. First, participants received basic theoretical instruction on coding and an introduction to AI concepts. The second session focused on hands-on practice, where teachers were guided to create simple programs using an easily accessible platform. Peke, S.Pd., as the Head of the KKG and an English teacher at SD Negeri 001 Babulu, also motivated participants to continue learning and adapting to technological developments.

Through this activity, teachers are expected to be able to integrate AI technology into their teaching practices, thereby improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process. Peke, S.Pd., expressed his hope that this training would become the beginning of various technology-based professional development programs in Babulu District. In this way, teachers can become agents of change who inspire students to use technology in positive and productive ways.
